“Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God just as he had done before.”
-Daniel 6:10 NIV
When Daniel heard that a new law had passed, he went to pray about it. Oddly enough, the decree he went to pray about outlawed prayer. Ya think Daniel cared? Ummm, No. Daniel did not waver in his faith, or the practice of that faith. It has become increasingly unpopular in U.S. culture to be Christian and to express Christian, biblical viewpoints. God’s Words to you are, “Do not waver.” Just as Jesus’ goal was not to please people, but to please His heavenly Father, so our goal is not to do what the people of this world want us to do. We do not waver in our commitment to doing what God wants us to do. Love Him most of all, and love our neighbors as ourselves. We have the example of Jesus, who did not waver in His mission to pay for our sins on the cross and gain eternal life for us. He didn’t bow out when the going got tough. Neither do we. Having been forgiven by Christ, with an eternity in heaven before us, we boldly believe, think, speak, and live according to the Bible. Do not waver.
